The first thing I noticed about Brandon Scherff when I saw his highlights was that he was absolutely nasty. And we Redskins fans know all about nasty offensive linemen from having seen the legendary Hogs clear the way to three Super Bowl wins for the Redskins.
And that’s what Brandon Scherff brought to mind when I first saw him. A Russ Grimm, Joe Jacoby type of mauler who will get down and dirty in the trenches and help the Redskins running game become dominant again.
And let’s face it, the Redskins running game declined considerably last season and while Alfred Morris still rushed for 1,000 yards, it was all three yards and a cloud of dust type of running.
