The 2024 season kicked off with the defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs defeating the Baltimore Ravens 27-20 on Thursday night. Friday night saw the Philadelphia Eagles defeat the Green Bay Packers 34-29. Now it’s time for the Washington Commanders to start their season with an away game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Washington opened as 3.5 point underdogs, and has held steady all week.
The Buccaneers are coached by Todd Bowles and have QB Baker Mayfield returning after Tampa Bay earned a trip to the playoffs in 2023. The Bucs won their division with a 9-8 record a year ago, but may face stiffer competition this season from the Falcons, who enter the ‘24 season with a new head coach in Raheem Morris and a new starting quarterback with Kirk Cousins.
