PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
Headline: Eagles, Chip Kelly Part Ways
The Philadelphia Eagles announced late Tuesday afternoon that they have "released" third-year head coach Chip Kelly, less than three whole days after their 38-24 loss to the Washington Redskins that eliminated the team from the playoffs for a second straight season.
“We appreciate all the contributions that Chip Kelly made and wish him every success going forward,” team chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie said, via the team's website.
The team also "released" Ed Marynowitz, who was serving as vice president of player personnel, as Tom Donahoe assumes the role of senior director of player personnel.
