ASHBURN — At the start of the week, the Washington Redskins seemed to have a logjam at the running back position.
Only three of the four backs — Alfred Morris, rookie Matt Jones, Chris Thompson and Pierre Thomas — would be active in Sunday’s wild-card round game against the Green Bay Packers.
Coach Jay Gruden had said that either Thompson or Jones would be out, depending on who was healthier, as the game approached. After Jones was limited all week with a hip injury that has kept him out the last two games, it appears unlikely he will play against Green Bay.
