Marty Hurney interviewing to be Washington’s new GM, reportedly their top candidate for the job

In the least shocking news of the week, former Carolina Panthers GM Marty Hurney is meeting with the Washington Football Team’s GM search committee today. Hurney has a long history with Head Coach Ron Rivera, and was pegged as the favorite for the open general manager job before the search was officially official. Washington has requested interviews with at least 5 other candidates, but according to Ian Rapoport, Hurney is the top candidate for the position.

Marty Hurney was Ron Rivera’s GM twice while he was head coach of the Carolina Panthers, and they are still very close.
