Longtime Washington Redskins linebacker LaVar Arrington has been hired by Maranatha High School in Pasadena, California as its new head football coach.
The three-time Pro Bowler and second overall draft pick played six seasons with Washington.
Arrington’s ties to California began in his post-football broadcasting career, when he moved to the West Coast to work for NFL Network. But he must have gotten the itch to return to a more active role on the gridiron, because he was an assistant coach for Long Beach Poly High School’s team last year, according to the Los Angeles Times.
