Washington only signed one undrafted free agent after this year's draft, RB Jaret Patterson. The rookie was a long-shot to make the team, and unseat 1-2 yard specialist Peyton Barber, but that'swhat happened after a solid training camp and preseason.
The team released Barber during the 53-man roster cuts down on Tuesday, but signed him to the practice squad the following day when he cleared waivers. Washington's coached liked Barber, and his reliability at picking up the needed yards.
It is always a risk to try to stash players you like on the practice squad, and that became apparent today with Barber being poached by the Las Vegas Raiders.
