EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey -- Interceptions, once again, doomed Kirk Cousins and the Washington Redskins. In their 34-20 loss to the New York Jets, Cousins threw two more picks – both in the third quarter and both leading to touchdowns.
In 20 games, Cousins has thrown at least two interceptions 10 times. That’s four times this season he’s thrown multiple picks in a game. The Redskins have been patient with Cousins, and have seen signs that they like. But they also need to see a lot more consistency – and that was the view before Sunday. The question is: How long can they live with the inconsistency before turning elsewhere (it would be to Colt McCoy, for those wondering)?
