Kyle Pitts tears MCL in blow to Falcons ahead of Commanders matchup

The Atlanta Falcons will be without one of their top playmakers when they face the Washington Commanders next weekend. And for a while after that.

Tight end Kyle Pitts, the fourth overall pick in the 2021 draft, has a torn MCL that will require surgery, according to multiple reports. Pitts suffered the injury in Sunday’s win over the Chicago Bears.

The loss is a blow to the Falcons as Pitts is regarded as one of the best young tight ends in football. Though his stats (356 yards, 28 catches) are down this season, Pitts had over 1,000 receiving yards as a rookie.
