ASHBURN, Va. -- Washington Redskins center Kory Lichtensteiger wants his teammates to keep winning for two good reasons: They would win the NFC East and he would be able to play again this season.
Lichtensteiger can return to practice next week, but isn’t eligible to play in a game again unless the Redskins reach the postseason. He was placed on injured reserve with a designation to return on Nov. 10, but the timetable meant he would miss the rest of the regular season.
Lichtensteiger said the pinched nerve in his neck has slowly improved and in the last two to three weeks his strength has “come back a lot.
