PHILADELPHIA -- The play unfolded in the preseason, but it told the Washington Redskins' coaches what they wanted to know about quarterback Kirk Cousins. He threw an interception; it didn’t bury him. They always expressed confidence about his ability, but not his ability to recover from mistakes.

And it was evident again this past Saturday night after Cousins committed his end-of-the-half gaffe that prevented the Redskins from scoring.
