Junior Galette, unhappy with contract negotiations, fires agent

Unhappy with the way negotiations towards a new contract were going, linebacker Junior Galette has fired agent Peter Schaffer, putting talks with the Washington Redskins on hold.

Under rules, Galette must wait five days before hiring a new agent.

Galette, who signed with Washington on a one-year deal last summer after being released by New Orleans, remains intent on re-signing Washington. However, he wants to sign a one-year deal so he can prove his ability to produce a dominant season despite coming off of a torn Achilles’ tendon, and then position himself to sign a lucrative, multi-year deal in 2017.
