ASHBURN, Va. -- The signing was a good one, even if the money suggests otherwise. Josh Norman isn’t the best free-agent signing in Washington Redskins history. He doesn’t have to be. Even at $50 million guaranteed, the Redskins have gotten what they wanted -- and a little bit more.
The tougher question to answer, of course: Has he been worth all that money? After all, while Norman has played well, he hasn’t transformed the defense, and when he’s on his game, quarterbacks target other corners.
And even if Norman isn’t the Redskins’ best free-agent signing -- London Fletcher earns that honor -- he is the best of the high-profile ones.
