Jerry Jones says Alfred Morris will be a complementary piece for the Cowboys

BOCA RATON, Fla.—Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday that the team was happy to have tailback Alfred Morris, who was added as a free agent following four seasons with the Washington Redskins.

But Morris was not signed to be the Cowboys’ No. 1 running back, according to Jones. Morris will share carries with Darren McFadden and Lance Dunbar, Jones said, adding that McFadden likely will be the team’s primary runner.

“We’re proud to have him,” Jones said at the annual league meeting. “He’ll be a good complement to McFadden and be a good complement to Dunbar.
