The Washington Commanders announced that they have officially signed QB Jayden Daniels to his rookie contract. He was the 2nd-overall pick in this year's draft, and the first pick of the Josh Harris/Adam Peters/Dan Quinn era. Daniels won the Heisman Trophy during his final season at LSU, making a big jump in skill, and maturity that made him shoot up draft boards.
Jayden Daniels has been taking First-Team reps this offseason, and is easily projected to be Washington's Week 1 starter over veteran backup Marcus Mariota. Dan Quinn said there will be competition at every position, including QB, but Daniels would need a lot of things to go wrong to not be QB1 this season.
