Wide receiver DeSean Jackson ramped up his participation in practice Wednesday, and Coach Jay Gurden said afterward that if the speedy wide receiver isn’t sufficiently fit to play for the Redskins Sunday at the New York Jets, he fully expects him back for the Oct. 25 game at Fed Ex Field against Tampa Bay.
“I feel like he is very, very close,” Gruden said. “If it’s not this Sunday, then it’d definitely be next weekend.”
Wednesday marked one month and one day since Jackson strained his left hamstring in the season-opening loss to Miami, an injury that team officials expected would sideline him three or four weeks.
