Jay Gruden: RGIII clearance mix up not on Redskins

After Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III was first cleared to play and then not cleared to play against the Baltimore Ravens, the Redskins were criticized heavily for a myriad of reasons surrounding the decision not play him.

The assumption by some is that the team itself simply screwed up the circumstances based on incompetence, negligence or both. A perception of dysfunction that has become typical for the franchise.

However, when head coach Jay Gruden spoke to the media after his teams’ 31-13 win over the Baltimore Ravens he stated that the mix up for RGIII was not on the Redskins.
