All season long, Redskins Coach Jay Gruden has accentuated the positive.
But asked Thursday about his level of optimism for running back Chris Thompson rebounding from a torn labrum in time for play Sunday at Chicago (5-7), Gruden didn’t mask his concern.
“My level of optimism is not very high with him right now,” Gruden said of Thompson, who underwent an MRI exam earlier in the week that confirmed the torn shoulder muscle. “Hopefully his pain and the range of motion gets better as the week progresses, and there’s a chance he could play. But that’s a concern.
