INDIANAPOLIS — Though he’s not intimately involved in closed-door contract talks and salary-cap machinations, Redskins Coach Jay Gruden said Wednesday that he feels “pretty good” about keeping Kirk Cousins in the fold as the team’s starting quarterback.
Whether that’s via a franchise tag or long-term contract, Gruden added that he’s confident that the more Cousins plays, the better he’s going to get.
Gruden delivered no bombshell in his 20-minute podium session at the NFL Combine as he did this time last year, announcing at the 2015 gathering at Lucas Oil Stadium that Robert Griffin III would be the team’s starting quarterback heading into the season.
