RICHMOND – Jay Gruden continued to express confidence in Robert Griffin III on Saturday, and he said that his review of the film from Thursday’s preseason opener at Cleveland featured signs of growth in the quarterback.
Griffin played a total of 19 plays and completed four of eight passes for 36 yards. Griffin also had one carry for three yards, picking up a first down in the process. The fourth-year veteran wasn’t flawless, but Gruden said he saw more positives than negatives in Griffin’s performance.
“I think you see progress,” Gruden said. “I see some negative articles here and there on our quarterbacks, but Robert was [4-for-8] with a 60-yard touchdown that was dropped.
