Jay Gruden has injury updates on Kory Lichtensteiger, Josh Doctson

Coach Jay Gruden said Monday that Redskins center Kory Lichtensteiger (calf) is close to returning from the reserve/injured list and that wide receiver Josh Doctson (Achilles tendon) is being watched closely to see if he can return. Gruden mentioned that Doctson was out of a walking boot Monday, which the coach took as a good sign.

Lichtensteiger was placed on injured reserve Sept. 27, forcing the Redskins to make their first major offensive line shuffle of the season. Spencer Long has capably replaced him.

Doctson was Washington’s first-round draft pick this year. He played two games and made two catches before finally being placed on injured reserve Oct.
