Jay Gruden expecting to play Robert Griffin III roughly a quarter on Thursday

RICHMOND — Robert Griffin III will likely see around a quarter’s worth of action in Thursday’s preseason opener at Cleveland, coach Jay Gruden said.

Gruden and his assistants remain in the process of finalizing their plans for that game, but the coach said he expects Griffin to see a fair amount of action.

“I would think at least a quarter right now, just off the top of my head. But we’ll see,” Gruden said on Monday afternoon. “It could be longer. It just depends on how many plays you get. He could have a pitch count and we’ll go from there.
