How have the Redskins Improved their Running Game?

The Washington Redskins ranked 19th in the NFL in rushing last season. That’s a steep drop off from 5th in the league the previous 2013 season. So entering 2015 the Redskins needed to take the necessary steps to get better at what they used to do best and that’s run the football.

The first thing they did was to hire a new offensive line coach in Bill Callahan. The hiring of Callahan signals a change in philosophy for the Redskins, moving away from the zone blocking scheme of the Mike Shanahan era to more of a power running attack with Callahan under Jay Gruden.
