Two non-offensive touchdowns put the Philadelphia Eagles right back into the Week 6 matchup against the Washington Redskins, but a late Matt Jones touchdown put the Redskins up 21-14 at the half.
The Redskins took a 14-0 lead after a 13-yard touchdown pass to tight end Vernon Davis. But, following the touchdown, Davis was flagged for excessive celebration. Davis threw the ball like he was shooting a free throw. The 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty was added to the ensuing kick off.
Eagles returner Wendell Smallwood returned the kick 86 yards for the Eagles’ first score of the day.
