Guice, Moreau help Redskins, but Panthers lead Panthers at half

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Fabian Moreau snagged an interception deep in Carolina Panthers territory and returned it to the 1-yard line, leading to the Washington Redskins’ first touchdown of the day.

A 2-point conversion would have tied the game, but the initial call of a completion to Jeremy Sprinkle was overturned, so the Redskins trail the Panthers 14-12 at halftime.

The Panthers raced out to a 14-0 lead with easy touchdown drives on their first two possessions. Curtis Samuel and DJ Moore caught red-zone touchdown passes to cap off some quick drives, and Washington’s defense looked confused at times.
