Washington Redskins receiver Andre Roberts’s continued problem with dropped passes has proved disturbing to Jay Gruden, and the coach said he plans to address the issue in hopes of helping spark improvement.
In each of the Redskins’ two losses, Roberts has dropped balls at key moments. In Week 1 against Miami, facing a fourth-quarter first-and-20 deep in Washington territory, Roberts dropped a wide open pass that would have picked up roughly six yards had he hung onto it. Then in the fourth quarter of Thursday night’s game, with Washington threatening to score from inside the red zone, Roberts dropped a pass over the middle that would have put the ball on the four-yard line at a minimum.
