RICHMOND – When the Washington Redskins hold their first practice of training camp later today, left tackle Trent Williams will join his teammates on the field for the first time this year after an ongoing ankle injury sidelined him during the offseason program. Williams will also take the field without the contract extension that he hoped he and the team would have agreed to by now.
However, Coach Jay Gruden doesn’t expect the injury, nor the unresolved contract status to serve as a hindrance to Williams, who last season earned the third Pro Bowl selection of his five-year career.
