Robert Griffin III is expected to be evaluated later this week by an independent neurologist to check for lingering concussion symptoms, Redskins Coach Jay Gruden said on Tuesday.
Gruden said he’d been told it would likely be Thursday or Friday when Griffin was re-tested. That would mark six or seven days since Dr. Robert N. Kurtzke, an independent neurologist, reversed a medical clearance that he’d given verbally to Redskins officials on Aug. 27. The team immediately put out a statement saying that Griffin had been cleared to take part in the third preseason game on Aug.
