From Arena League to NFL starter, Redskins' OT Ty Nsekhe travels unusual path

ASHBURN, Va. -- The journey started with a chance to play football in Corpus Christi, Texas, for $50 a game -- though a win would double the amount. Washington Redskins tackle Ty Nsekhe lacked other options and just wanted to grab a little attention, so he signed up to play in Arena League 2, keeping the NFL as a distant -- but constant -- dream. That, however, wasn’t the low point for Nsekhe.

After two years playing indoors for Arena League teams, Nsekhe had a shot at joining the Miami Dolphins -- until the lockout hit in 2011.
