Former Washington Redskins defensive end Jason Hatcher has retired, according to his agent Jordan Woy.
Following the Redskins’ loss to the Packers in the wild-card round of the playoffs, Hatcher said he was contemplating retirement in the offseason. Washington cut him on March 7 prior to the start of free agency, a move that saved the team $4.3 million by cutting the 33-year-old. Hatcher had a handful of offers from other teams but decided to call it quits before his 11th season.
In 2015, Hatcher played 15 games but his production was limited by injuries. He regularly sat out Wednesday practices to rest his knees and pinched a nerve in his neck late in the season.
