For Redskins’ young linemen, ‘it’s all about the tool box’

The Redskins’ offensive line has played with consistency despite inexperience and injury. The young linemen say position coach Bill Callahan prepared them for every scenario.

“It’s all about the tool box,” rookie guard Brandon Scherff said. His linemates agree, saying that the “tools” – a wide range of counter moves designed to thwart whatever defensive linemen will try to throw at them – taught by Callahan and assistant Shane Day are the reason they have done so well in pass protection.

“As an offensive lineman, a lot of people don’t think you can have a lot of tools,” right tackle Morgan Moses said.
