For Alfred Morris, waiting to play a key role again was the hardest part

A man of deep personal faith, Alfred Morris said he never stopped believing that his fortunes would turn around even as his workload diminished each week of the Washington Redskins’ season.

But staying patient until that time came was a challenge, the fourth-year running back admitted following the Redskins’ 47-14 rout of the New Orleans Saints.

“If I told you it was easy, I’d be lying,” Morris said in the locker room afterward.

Sunday’s victory, which improved the Redskins to 4-5, marked Morris’s return to the game plan. He got the ball on eight of the 10 plays in the opening drive.
