Friday marks eight years to the day since former Redskins safety Sean Taylor passed away after being shot in the upper thigh by an intruder in his Miami area home. The death of the 24-year-old sent shock waves throughout the league as the Redskins lost a once-in-a-generation safety in his prime during the middle of the season.
As much as he was beloved by the Washington fans, voted as one of the 80 greatest Redskins of all-time despite playing just four seasons in the NFL, Taylor was an icon in the Miami area and throughout the state of Florida.
