According to reports, the Redskins face a daunting task in replacing former General Manager Scot McCloughan. No established executive should want the job and for good reason. Drama just seems to follow the franchise. It’s been a rough start to the off-season for the Redskins. First Washington lost Sean McVay, then the McCloughan drama escalated, and that’s not even mentioning Kirk Cousins contract controversy. Instead of looking outside the organization, the Redskins should promote Doug Williams to General Manager.
Elevating Williams would be an excellent example of winning off the field. Doug Williams has history with Bruce Allen as the two spent four years together in Tampa from 2004-08.
