Derrius Guice undergoes surgery: reports

ASHBURN — Derrius Guice underwent surgery Thursday to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee, sidelining the Redskins running back for the next six to eight weeks.

The operation was performed by Dr. James Andrews, who also repaired Guice’s left knee after the running back tore his ACL as a Redskins rookie in 2018. While Guice’s injury isn’t season-ending, this is the latest setback for Guice, who hurt his knee after just one game to start 2019.

Guice met with Andrews earlier in the day, according to multiple reports, and decided surgery was the best option.
