The Washington Redskins suffered a couple of key injuries in their Week 1 battle with the Philadelphia Eagles. Defensive end Jonathan Allen left the game in the first half after suffering a knee injury. That issue was deemed a sprain and it will render him week-to-week moving forward.
The other injury was a bit of a surprise. On Monday, it was confirmed that the team’s running back, Derrius Guice, had also suffered a knee injury and that he was expected to miss time. The severity of the injury wasn’t known at first, but it was certainly a concern given that he had missed all of last season with a torn ACL.
