Redskins running back Derrius Guice is getting a second opinion Thursday on his torn meniscus to see if he needs surgery, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.
Guice will meet with Dr. James Andrews, the renowned surgeon who repaired the 22-year-old’s torn ACL last year in Florida. If Guice opts for surgery — and Schefter reports that it’s likely — he could miss six to eight weeks.
Guice injured his right knee in Sunday’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. He did not practice Wednesday and coach Jay Gruden said the running was still “getting checked out.
