Kirk Cousins wants to play, and it appears the Washington Redskins quarterback will likely start on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys, though it’s unknown for how long he’ll be used in a season finale without any playoff implications.
Redskins Coach Jay Gruden doesn’t want to risk an injury to Cousins, nor any of the other starters, prior to the team’s first-round playoff game next week. If Cousins starts on Sunday, expect Gruden to pull Cousins out the game and bring in Colt McCoy at some point. Let’s just say McCoy goes down with an injury. Gruden doesn’t want to put Cousins back in.
