Back in the summer of 2013, the Washington Redskins asked the owner of an Arby’s in Richmond, Virginia to not use their logo after creating a parking sign with Robert Griffin III’s name on it.
Fast forward to now–the summer of 2015–and now that the Redskins have lost their federal trademark, the owner of the Arby’s–Dean Kovanes–can once again use their logo and create a special parking sign. Now that the trademark is no longer recognized, the Skins can’t do anything legally to force the Arby’s owner or anyone else who wants to use the their logo for profit.
