Dan Quinn talked to the media after today’s practice, the last time he will before the team’s season opener against the Buccaneers in Tampa on Sunday. Quinn named team captains for this week, a big change from how previous head coaches have handled that. Rookie injuries can be frustrating, especially when they are highly-touted players. Second-round pick Jer’Zhan Newton had two foot surgeries this year, and then dealt with a soft-tissue issue in one of his feet. Quinn didn’t rule him out, but it’s still a long-shot that he suits up for his first NFL game this weekend.
