The Washington Commanders have signed interior offensive lineman J.C. Hassenauer to the active roster. In corresponding moves, the team has also waived offensive tackle Alex Akingbulu with an injury designation and released tight end Armani Rogers.
Hassenauer, an undrafted free agent from Alabama, has played played in 45 games, all with the Pittsburgh Steelers, with seven starts from 2020-22. He began his NFL career with the Atlanta Falcons before joining the Birmingham Iron in the AAF.
