Washington’s offensive line lacks continuity but will need to jell quickly with the opener coming against Todd Bowles’s Buccaneers.
Over the past decade, Bowles has blitzed a lot — against rookie quarterbacks, against dual-threat quarterbacks and in many situations. He seems to really love blitzing on third and short, and he probably will immediately challenge rookie Jayden Daniels and his offensive line, which didn’t take many snaps together in the preseason.
Bowles could try to disrupt the unit even without blitzing by using simulated pressures to test the Commanders’ processing and communication.
Bowles’s defense will be a big test for Washington’s suspect line.
