As it’s been a common theme throughout the season for the Redskins, Washington will have its depth tested once again at the cornerback position on Sunday against the New York Giants. First it started with Thursday’s practice when Chris Culliver tore his anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament. On Friday, Bashaud Breeland did not practice because of an illness.
The Redskins will place Culliver on injured reserve, and it’s expected that they’ll promote practice squad cornerback Dashaun Phillips to the active roster prior to a big matchup against the Giants with first place on the line in the NFC East.
