The Washington Redskins re-signed defensive lineman Caleb Brantley, the team announced Monday.
Brantley, 25, appeared in only one game last season. In training camp, he suffered a foot injury that he later re-aggravated in a Week 1 loss against the Philadelphia Eagles. Brantley was then placed on injured reserve and underwent surgery. Before the injury, the Redskins expected Brantley to be part of their defensive line rotation.
Washington first claimed Brantley off waivers in 2018 when he was released by the Cleveland Browns. The move was seen to be controversial at the time as Brantley was charged in April 2017 with misdemeanor battery for allegedly striking a woman’s face and knocking her unconscious.
