With the Redskins getting back two key offensive starters who’d been sidelined by concussions, quarterback Robert Griffin III resumed his spot on the list of inactives for Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Left tackle Trent Williams and tight end Jordan Reed received medical clearance to play after completing the NFL concussion protocol. That’s good news for the Redskins in their return to FedEx Field after back-to-back losses on the road dropped their record to 2-4.
Running back Chris Thompson, who has emerged as a valuable third-down playmaker, leads the list of inactives. Thompson suffered a significant bruise on his lower back in the previous week’s 34-20 loss at the New York Jets and was unable to practice during the week.
