What a difference the bye week made. Two weeks ago, the Commanders were on pace to clinch the 6th playoff seed and there was a buzz developing about their chances to not just make the playoffs, but possibly even make some noise when they got there.
Then came the rematch with division rival New York Giants, the Commanders’ primary competition for the remaining playoff spots, with whom they had tied the last time they played. This game was a pivotal moment in the Commanders’ season. If they could take just care of business against the Giants, they could all but assure themselves of a playoff seed.
