Though he’d made strides in recovering from the torn shoulder muscle that sidelined him for last week’s game at Chicago, Washington Redskins running back Chris Thompson will be inactive for Sunday’s home finale against the Buffalo Bills.
With Thompson inactive for a second consecutive week, that creates an opportunity for veteran third-down back Pierre Thomas to play an expanded role against the Bills.
The Redskins signed Thomas earlier this month, concerned about Thompson’s availability down the stretch of the regular season, with their playoff hopes in the balance.
