The Redskins got bad news about their kicking situation on Monday afternoon when Dustin Hopkins was declared out for the team’s Week 7 battle with the Philadelphia Eagles. Hopkins has a small muscle tear in his hip that will designate him as week-to-week moving forward. But with him definitively out for the Eagles game, the Redskins are going to need a short term replacement.
At this point in the season, there’s a lot of uncertain options available on the kicking market. Top notch veterans are all on rosters and the talented younger kickers, like Jake Elliott and Harrison Butker, have already been scooped up by kicker needy teams.
