It’s official, the NFL salary cap will be $188.2 million per team for the 2019 season. This represents an $11 million jump from last years $177.2 million cap. The salary cap has been consistently rising $10-12 million dollars per year since 2013, and this trend will likely continue as TV deal money keeps flowing.
The NFL also released numbers for franchise tags, transition tags, and restricted free agents. The Redskins aren’t expected to use either tag on any players this year. If they would apply the tag to OLB Preston Smith, it would cost them $15.
