Last season, the Washington Redskins used multiple defensive linemen to play the nose tackle position following the departure of Terrance Knighton.
Despite being in his 11th NFL season with the Redskins, 33-year-old Kedric Golston earned the starting nose tackle position for the regular season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Golston played on 28 defensive snaps against the Steelers, but six days later on the first snap of Washington’s Week 2 game against the Dallas Cowboys, the University of Georgia product suffered a season-ending hamstring injury and was placed on Injured Reserve.
